Hi All, I am so peaked by the ancient coins that I want to start learning more about them. However I have a family and 2 jobs right now and literally NO reading time. So, if I could get just one book to give me a good overview, what would you all recommend and why? Thank you!
My vote would be for Wayne G. Sayles, Ancient Coin Collecting Vol. 1. It's a good overview/survey of collecting ancient coins. Mostly classical (Greek and Roman), however, he does touch on non-classical coins as well. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/087341442X/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_hsch_vapi_taft_p1_i0

There are no single books that cover everything you want to know about every ancient coin. There are decent books on just Greek, for example. After you read Sayles #1, you may want to consider the other volumes in his series or other more specialized books. I also suggest looking over some educational web sites on the subject. Mine is aimed at beginners: http://www.forumancientcoins.com/dougsmith/ I would start with: http://www.forumancientcoins.com/dougsmith/voc.html
