Well, almost a slug. Another leftover from my uncleaned lot, this one had a patina that obscured the details. So I figured it was better to have an identifiable coin than a smooth metal disk with a pretty patina. The portrait reminds me of Augustus, and there’s a bit of inscription on the left of both sides, but beyond that I can’t tell much. The back is a tetrastyle temple, maybe Artemis?

In the photo, the reverse looks, to me, more like an eagle than a temple. But maybe that's just an idiosyncrasy of the photo.

I thought eagle too, but it's just so hard to tell. At this point it most resembles an ogre wearing a sombrero and carrying a torch; snake in left field. An acsearch with those terms failed though :D

The portrait does look Augustus-y, although it could just as easily be Tiberius or another early emperor.

With that "centration dimple" and small size (diassarion?), I'd look at coins from the Balkans, such as Marcianopolis or Nicopolis ad Istrum.

I tried to highlight the reverse to make what I am seeing clearer xD I checked the Balkan mints you mentioned, but didn't see a match. If it helps, the temple appears to have only one column on either side. I think it's definitely a temple, though. The coin is practically slick, but I'd still like to ID it if possible!

I’d love to work on this tonight but alas the power plant is down, so back to the dark and internetless days :(. At least I have a bar of cell signal at the moment.
