I'm hesitating between Clodius Albinos and Septimius Severus on obverse of this Roman denarius. After a 3-hour- search, I couldn't come to a final decisive end. There's victory holding wreath and palm branch on reverse. That looks easy, but I can't find an attribution. The coin weighs 2.84 g. Thank you.
I'm not giving this ID away when I show mine but it might help. This page will give it away and the fact that neither this one or mine is very high grade might tell you something. Martin, do you have a bold one? See 347 http://bpmurphy.ancients.info/severan/ssalex3.htm
Finally, I got two attributions. The first is RIC 38 A. It was struck in Rome ( Reka Devnia Hoard- page 103). The second attribution is RIC IV- Alexandria-350 B. Just heading right or left for Victory, could make a great deal for a coin. Funny indeed. Brother Martin and Master Doug, Thank you very much for your precious and sincere cooperation.
