Hi, newbie here, I have had these coins with my oriental collection here at home for a while now. I have had these identified a real and correct with regards to the castings(not fakes)by IAG auctions here in Australia. I do however not know any particulars about them. I do have a very good feeling about them but would like to hear from those in the know with chinese coins.

    regards

    Gavin

Thanks heaps, any ideas on the others....I see yours is a lot crisper and clearer than mine, would that make itan earlier date?? Are the others Japanese too??

    thanks in advance

Pre-Meiji coins are definitely not my specialty Gav, but
    • I have never seen anything in the literature about Japanese coins in the "anchor" style.
    • The round cash coin is similar in style, but larger and with different legends, to a Tenpo Tsuho coin with a Buddhist mantra on one side.
It may possibly be Japanese, but I really don't think so. No coin of that size is in any of my Japanese coin references.

    Thanks hontonai

Thanks hontonai, maybe Chinese, Mongolian or Tibetan? I have had them guessed to be around 600AD but alas I am totally ignorant when it comes to old coins, hopefully we can all learn together.
Are coins actually found in the anchor shape or could it be something more unusual like a royal or military pass from one of these regions?

    thanks in advance
