I have had this coin 'floating' around for a while and I am unable to attribute it.

I want to call it Roman, but i believe that the legend is Greek. (Provincial?)

Can anyone help me please? AE20 mm., 5.0 gm., Thank-you.

    TIF Always learning.

I'm away from my computer and can't browse easily, but the reverse spells Markianopolis (you can see enough of the letters, although Greek). Obverse name consistent with Caracalla or Elagabalus.

Check Wildwinds and CNG's archives, city name Markianopolis or Marcianopolis.

What do I have so far?

Obv: AVPHLAYOC_ANTWNEINOC Caracalla? / Elagabalus? I don't know. I cannot find a 'provincial' with their head 'Bare' (all seem to be Laureate).

Rev: MARKIANO_POLITWN Dikaiosyne? (or is it Aequitas) standing left, holding scales and cornucopiae?

I am afraid that is all I have.

Does anyone have any more, please?

Does someone have somewhere where they can enter Greek Legends?

Do you use a computer that runs Windows? If so, go to the search bar found in the Start menu. Search for char map or character map. It will have all the characters you computer knows already. You can pick the Greek characters from there then copy/paste the results into whatever you're using. It's almost like using the "Insert Symbol" function in Word. If you're running another operating system I can be of no help other that to suggest using Google.

I use my character map a lot and have it pinned to my start bar.

@Jwt708 Excellent! I was puzzled because I couldn't find Greek in my list. Once the Character Map dialog box is on the screen, select Advanced and the Greek is there. Now pinned. :D
