Hi guys! I have had this coin for awhile and I could never quite ID it for certain. I've browsed Numista and Zeno and couldn't find anything quite like it and I was hoping that someone here could help zero in on its origin. 2019-04-01 17.22.09.jpg 2019-04-01 17.21.17.jpg 2019-04-01 17.26.03.jpg

Hard to see in its flip, but I see the first cipher of a date: V = 7. So, 8th cent. AH = 14th cent. AD. Mid 14th century I think - take a look at VCoins.
What I like about Golden Horde coinage, is it being the ancestor of Russian coinage.

Thanks! I saw the date too but thought it was the ending number so I didn't see it as being useful but I realize I forgot the script reads right-left. I'll look through VCoins and Zeno again for 14th C for sure. Do you think that the Golden Horde attribution is correct?

I think this coin is later than 706 AH, I would expect about 740. Arabic is from right to left, but numbers are from left to right. So this is a century V or 7. Take a look at VCoins. Naturally, one should try to read the Arabic lettering and keep the names of the lords in one's mind. Some of us can do that, but I don't.
