The smallest coin I've run into before but can't remember.
The larger coin is something like Egyptian or at least that alphabet.
The token, well that's totally out of my league.

The center coin is Ottoman. You're right that it looks Egyptian - Egypt was part of the Ottoman Empire - but in this case I'm fairly sure it's Turkish. I could ID it if nobody else does, but since I don't read Arabic it would take a little head scratching and "squintin' at the squigglies".

At right is an Austrian 1-heller piece.

What's the legend on the banner on the shield on that token say? I can't quite make it out.

    Thanks for your efforts.
I don't have a 19th century Krause so I can't ID and price those items.
I'll look at Turkey and see if I can find something similar.

I did some research on the token.
    Surprising (to me) results.
    It's a KKK token.
    Value about $10.

Anytime you want to look up a Krause listing, type your country, date, and denomination. Add "NGC price" after those keywords. Search. You won't always get a perfect hit, but I usually get what I need in the top few results. The NGC World Coin Priceguide is mostly if not entirely derived from Krause.

    Try it with me.

    Austria heller 1900 NGC price

That page was the first Google result. It did give me a link where the 1901 was highlighted, but so what.

Those are handsome coins, but common. The lack of any country name on them has tripped up many a collector.

It's a <$5 coin even in UNC,and I'm afraid that example, with the verdigris on it, is 25¢ bin material. I sold many in my 3/$1 bin at my old antique mall booth.

But now you know you can find Krause data online for free. :)

Interesting about the KKK token. I did pick up a sort of "Christian Identity" right-wing-militia kind of vibe from the design. And the three Ks were right there staring at us the whole time.

    Thanks again.
Turns out I DO have a 19th century Krause.

And yes, that's a Turkish coin.
I'm not even going to try to ID the date.
But if I recall correctly that checkmark type symbol stands for 1.

Got one more coin that I missed on the first go-around.
This time it's not as bad as Arabic but I don't do Cyrillic either.

Thank you! I was too lazy to squint-the-squigglies and do the headscratching.

I would have come up with it eventually, but for me, it would've been a laborious process.

    So... Egypt after all!

And- @kanga - as I was suspecting but did not say earlier, your "checkmark" symbol there is actually the Arabic "2", not a "1". their 1 looks more like the "1" numeral we're used to seeing, though in a more calligraphic, brushstroke kind of style. I thought that looked like a "2", but did not say anything because that confused me, since I could not recall any denominations that began with a "2".

It being a 2/10-qirsh, as helpfully linked to by @Muzyck, explains that.

Here is the NGC/Krause listing. Yours should be the 1293 AH struck in the 33rd regnal year ("1293/33" as rendered in the catalog.) They mention an "H", which I assume is a mintmark. Your pictures are too small for me to make that out, but I'm thinking that would almost certainly have to be the Heaton mint in Birmingham, England, which struck a lot of world coins under contract for foreign governments.

    Thanks for all the help.
A friend of my wife handed over about 20 coins, the one token and one piece of currency.
I was just doing due diligence to keep the peace.
    Nothing spectacular.
Only a few would go over $1 and none over $5.
But the token was interesting as was the note (which I posted over on the paper money board).

Being known as a collector attracts others for help.
A year or so ago the neighbor across the street handed me something to look at.
They were slabbed (NGC) US Double Eagles.
She was wonder if they were worth more than face value ($20) :wideyed:.
I think she was pleased when I told her she could get $1100-$1300 EACH for them :angelic:.
I think she had 20-30 of them.
I also pointed her to a respected local dealer since she didn't want to go the auction route.
