The IBNS (International BankNote Society) elects the banknote of the year. For the awards are considered among other aspects, the artistic merits and innovative security features. The purpose of the society is to stimulate the knowledge and studies of the banknotes of the world and related topics. It has over 2000 members in 90 countries.
