I did a deep dive into the United States Mint's foreign coinage contracts and communications with South Korea.

    The U.S. Archives are awesome!

I only wish the Korean archives was as transparent and open..

    Thanks for your kind words.
If you don't read it, that's fine, just peruse this article's Appendix A.
If you like coins and are interested in the economics of coins, then it will be worth your time!

I bookmarked it. Kind of nuts that it's rare that I have found a Korean coin.
The article looks well illustrated. Nice write up!

    Done, and greatly enjoyed.

Also, I'll add that the last couple of times I wrote pieces this long, I got degrees out of them! (I was going to say "this long and thoroughly researched", but the fact is, this is much more thoroughly researched than any of my academic stuff...)

You know my thoughts on your research, I am sure.
But, is that all you've got?
Sort of lazy, on your part.....
That is not the Korean way.

After reading Appendix A I can tell that this is both a well researched work and a labour of love. Congratulations.

    1. That was not an article, it was a book.
    2. A subject of a coinage I had no knowledge of.
3 Burned up more than an hour unexpectedly reading.
    4. Thoroughly enjoyed being educated about a subject coinage I knew nothing of.
    5. Incredibly well researched subject and well written.
    6. Now I kind of want to collect some of these.

If looking for pieces that have a potential for decent resale after you've enjoyed them, go for 4292 (1959)-dated 10-Hwan coins in grades of MS-64 RED or higher (if you can find them), and 100-Hwan coins in MS-65 or higher.
