I wish I could’ve grabbed the rolls.

I’m a cashier and someone brought rolls of these in to pay with. They were probably stolen considering the area where I work. I managed to grab a couple. I don’t know if they’re worth anything or rare, but they’re pretty!

Not worth anything beyond face value. They are nice looking but beyond that, nothing that will let you retire. Hopefully they weren't stolen.

Maybe they wasn’t. I did ask around because I had some uncirculated nickels stolen from me. I also can not stand a thief!! I started with $9 in 2005 D & P and either 1964 or ‘65 (I can’t recall mint) nickels. All was stolen except for a $2 roll of 2005p and a smaller roll of 2005d (pic included). Those fell out of the bag. They’ve been hiding in my tackle box since. No one thinks to check a chicks fishing gear for “valuables” lol

I wonder what kinda tones or maybe corrosion a tackle box makes?
    @paddyman98 you ever tried this?

I’m sure it’s not good for it. Luckily it’s the one that I keep at the house and grab what I need from. It’s the only thing that I know no one will care about going through.

If a thief is ransacking your house for things to steal, they definitely won't bother going through your tackle box. They'll just take the whole thing!

The roll of 2005P is an original roll sold by the US Mint. The "short roll" of 2005D was put together by a third party after it left the Mint, probably from a bulk order that would not grade high enough to warrant slabbing.

FYI, the 2005P uncirculated roll is just one from the Westward Journey series that were issued by the US Mint for the years 2004-2006 with rolls from each Mint, Philadelphia and Denver. There were five different designs used - "Peace Medal" and "Keelboat" for 2004, "Bison" and "Ocean in View" for 2005 and "Return to Monticello" for 2006. All of these are readily available on eBay.

I agree with you on that, but the person i am talking about is family. He’s not going through the tackle box. It’s all garbage to him. I have no control over who comes here since this is my 82 yr old grandmothers house, even though I am the only person in my family who will take care of her. So, it’s either hide what I don’t want taken, or put her in a nursing home and go back to my own house.

That's a shame! Have you thought about renting a Safe Deposit Box from your bank?

No tones or corrosion.. Just a fishy smell :yack:

But some Quarters kept in there once had something strange happen to them.. The G on GOD turned into the letter C..
Now they all say in COD WE TRUST.. Weird!

    Search them for varieties. http://www.lincolncentresource.com/

I used to love where I went to high school in the ghetto. I always got fascinating change from the local grocery stores. I miss those days.

That sucks KandiB you might try keeping them in something a little more air tite.
Maybe a couple of zip lock baggies, to help slow down any possible corrosion.

Ya know.... that has never crossed my mind to do that for myself. I rented one for my grandmother after her valuables came up missing. Doing that would make a lot more sense than worrying about my things when I’m not here, and having to carry a big purse and bag with most of my important things everywhere I go.

I collected a hoard of these when they first appeared in circulation and have them still tucked away. I rarely see any in circulation at all these days so I suppose that's a good thing.

I have about 18,000 in Mint bags & rolls and rolls from the release ceremonies.

Wow! I guess the rarity isn't going to jump eons anytime soon with that many potentially available. I guess many hoarded that series anticipating a value increase. I know I don't ever see any in circulation these days.

Five different designs with two different mintmarks means that I have 1,800 for each. If I dumped them all into the marketplace at the same time, I seriously doubt that it would have an adverse effect on the value.

I didn't hoard them in anticipation of an increase in value. I hoarded them because I like the designs.
