Great interview, Rob. Every time I read an interview, article, post, thread, exposé, etc I get to know something more about you I didn't know before. Obviously that's the point of each of those writings. I honestly feel like I've known you for decades. I've even introduced you to family, and we haven't even met. ;)

    Keep on keeping on, brother.

It was another great interview in the series. To read the beginnings of your collecting journey, and especially the little insight of your childhood upbringing. Fascinating stuff.

Our very own @Deacon Ray was interviewed under his NumisForums handle: Longinus. Many here will remember him for his brilliant posters and graphic arts displays of his collections.

I am enthralled by the Chinese medallion you found in North Carolina. That is just fascinating.

Certainly my most famous find in the wider world outside of the numismatic community. A friend of mine was browsing in a bookstore and just happened to stumble across the mention of me and the medallion in Gavin Menzies’ Who Discovered America? book. Though I knew about Menzies’ earlier work, I had never heard of that book nor had any inkling that I and my find were discussed in it.

Nice disclosure. Fun facts on your pseudonym; I’ll have to mention that to my daughter who recently ‘found’ D&D.

Finding that 1914D was epic. I snagged a 1917 DDO buying a roll for my Roll Set. Sometimes luck is on our side.

Rob, great interview and enjpyable reading about you and your collection. I remember very well when we met at theFun Show, meeting people in person from CT is very enjoyable to me. I think interviews like this are good for the hobby and Coin Talk.

You were right nearby when that picture of me with Ben Franklin was taken!

Great article, Rob. I looked up Hampton Point and kinda have an idea now where you found the Spanish 4 Maravedi. Now you are famous!…Spark

Edit: Somehow this is in the wrong place. Valid excuse working for the wife all day, very tired, and hungry. Going to set back now and have a cold one.
