I sold an 1845 Large cent on ebay. While packing it, I noticed it was an 1843. OOPS. There are 3 known varieties. This is I believe a 4th variety. see page 106 in the redbook. This one has Head of 1844, with small letters on the reverse. I may have sold an undiscovered coin. I gave the buyer an option to refuse the coin, but I also told him everything I told you. Sorry to hear about your mistake. Very respectable on your part. I have made many similar mistakes as you did and probably many more that I am not even aware of. I know the thought of the mistake makes you sick to your stomach, but at least you were honest with the buyer.
I fixed the url. This is the second wrongly marked 2X2 from the same lot. When you buy coins, don't believe what's written on the 2X2!
I may be naive here but could you contact the buyer and let them know you sent the wrong coin by mistake and would like to send them what the correct coin. TC

Sorry, but this is the petite head with small letters. Notice the dull rounded bust. I am leaning towards an N-2 r1. See here for examples. Enjoy - make your sale. Never ever trust what is written on a 2x2 - you must be able to verify attributes yourself.
Three varieties? Try 17. The Redbook shows three GROUPS each of which may have one or more varieties in the group. I haven't tried to attribute it, but Mark is right it is a petite head small letter type.
