Assuming the reverse matches you indeed have an off-center. However, I see no doubling of any consequence. Perhaps you're taking about the split plating visible on LIBERTY?

    Definitely a keeper.
It's at least from a misaligned die. With a pic of the other side, we can tell if that's all or it was struck off center.
It's not a doubled die, though.

    V. Kurt Bellman Yes, I'm blunt! Get over your "feeeeelings".

Right coin to want to keep, wrong reason. Enjoy it, at least you have a legitimate error. Not a huge $ bump, though.

The correct numismatic terminology is Doubled Die.. not double die.
    Big difference.

But I don't see any doubling.

Thank you, I'll work on my terminology. Maybe as I am new to the Numismatic world I misunderstand what a Doubled Die is, I definitely see what I understood to be Doubling lightly in the date at second zero also fairly prominent in the Liberty. I also see it around President Lincolns face especially near his chin and lips. Please correct me I would appreciate some clarity

I really appreciate the time and experience you veterans of the coin world impart on us newbies. I will be a couple of days before a pict of the reverse is available. in my excitement I've sent the one picture and asked my questions before the coin has made it home. ill post it as soon as i receive it. I obviously have a lot to learn here. thanks again
