What year is that? Did you cross reference it? I think I see possible MD and possible Dbld, but I am sure the others will say what they think it is. Gd luck!

Definitely not a cud...a cud is a die break that includes the rim and does not look like this. The overall appearance of the anomaly, including the disturbance around the head, points to a plating issue.

 

Thanks non-cents for the education regarding cuds...do you really think I was serious with my post? That was my sarcastic response to eddio after reading his thread “us nickel with die chip”, to see if he had learned what a cud was.

It wasn't posted as a direct response to you, Larry...just throwing it out there since a few members mentioned it. I am unaware of the previous thread regarding cuds so forgive me if I didn't pick up on it right away.

I usually only get double vision when I'm in hotel bars after hours at coin conventions...
