Sadly, I have decided to end my Canada 5 cent collection after this year. 100 years will have to be enough. So far I have the Silver Proof and Specimen on the way. How many for 2022? A 100 year anniversary special issue coming? I bet there will be. Below is my Inventory not including these. Getting a little crazy chasing down 5 or 6 different Canadian 5 cent coins every year. I don't mind collecting coins but with the cost of some of these, I just can't justify continuing. Canadian 5 Cent Collection "Bug Tail" "bald belly" Extra Water Line (XWL) etc. do not interest me enough to pay much for. I think this is a pretty extensive and complete collection of Canadian 5 Cent coins. I plan to estimate a grade for them at some point. Early dates to 1940 are average VF-XF or better with the 1925 graded at F12 by ICCS. After that, for 1950's many are AU-Unc and most recent are high grade examples. Some obscure "in set only" or single boxed issues, I keep in a blue box. 1. 1922 2. 1923 3. 1924 4. 1925 Cert ( in with others on top of blue box for now ) 5. 1926 6. 1927 7. 1928 8. 1929 9. 1930 10. 1931 11. 1932 12. 1933 13. 1934 14. 1935 15. 1936 16. 1937 Dot 17. 1938 18. 1939 19. 1940 20. 1941 21. 1942 22. 1942 Tombac 23. 1943 Tombac 24. 1944 25. 1945 26. 1946 27. 1947 28. 1947 Maple Leaf 29. 1948 30. 1949 31. 1950 32. 1951 33. 1951 1751-1951 34. 1952 35. 1953 NSF 36. 1953 SF 37. 1954 38. 1955 39. 1956 40. 1957 41. 1958 42. 1959 43. 1960 44. 1961 45. 1961 PL 46. 1962 47. 1962 PL 48. 1963 49. 1963 PL 50. 1964 51. 1964 PL 52. 1965 53. 1965 PL 54. 1966 55. 1966 PL light cameo 56. 1967 Rabbit 57. 1967 PL Rabbit 58. 1968 59. 1968 PL 60. 1969 61. 1969 PL 62. 1970 63. 1970 PL 64. 1971 65. 1971 PL 66. 1972 67. 1972 PL 68. 1973 69. 1973 PL 70. 1974 71. 1974 PL 72. 1975 73. 1975 PL 74. 1976 75. 1976 PL 76. 1977 Low 7 77. 1977 High 7 78. 1977 Low 7 PL 79. 1978 80. 1978 PL 81. 1979 82. 1980 83. 1981 84. 1981 Proof Pure Nickel 85. 1982 86. 1982 Proof 87. 1983 88. 1983 PL? Crazy thing I didn't figure out until I opened one up, your item #164 (2005 Victory Silver Proof encased gold plated highlight 1945-2005 Mint report mintage 12,000) isn't just the coin on the inside of a capsule - it's got some kind of clear rubber/plastic coating.
Yes, I saw one just the other day still encapsulated in that plastic molded capsule in a NGC slab and it was a lot of money. Like around $300. Somebody just got one for $15.63 + $5.49 shipping. That was a great price! Typically they get about $60 to $75 loose but in the "bubble". Keep them in the plastic! Here's one side of mine anyway. I had the book, but threw it away without regret.
Wow that's a large collection. I am doing the caribou quarters in silver proof. Started at 2015. Gonna buy a 2022 silver proof quarter tomorrow on Ebay.
That is some collection @TheNickelGuy. Nicely done. I guess you've reached that level where enough is enough and I don't blame you.
