I need some help researching this coin. I can't find any documentation on it. If anybody knows a link I can go to to read up on the coin, but google kept giving me nothing.

Re reading your post, I'm not sure what you're looking for. It would be nice to see images of the coin in question.

This is the actual coin. Thanks for your replies. I checked out Westwinds. I guess I'm looking for rarity information.

I don't think they are too rare, since theres a few listed on vcoins, but I don't have RIC to see if its listed as rare.

I don't know about this specific type, but the denarii of Severus Alexander are plentiful, and not rare.

Those who do not collect ancients often miss the fact that rarity/price/desirability as an interest to collectors work differently for ancients than for modern coins. No one knows mintage figures on any ancients; few care whether their coin is one of a thousand or one of ten unless that population figure means that there are few enough that other collectors will keep you from having the coin you want. When there are a million different types (and there are at least that number), no one is trying to get them all so ordinary reverses of common emperors are not likely to generate major bidding battles no matter how few of the coin was made or still exists.
