Hey guys! I have never bought a gold coins and, consequently, I'm not too good at grading them. That being said, I was hoping that you forum members could give some opinoins as to the grade of this Half Eagle. Thanks in advance!
Very nice. I'll go MS65 if the coin looks as good in hand as in the picture. I too have trouble taking shots of gold using artificial light. It really accentuates the (very minor) blemishes which otherwise would go unnoticed. Bone
eBay pics of gold coins are really hard to judge sometimes - because of that I tend to be more cautious. So in this case I'm gonna say AU58 - the high points appear just a tad darker than adjoining areas. That can either be the pics or it can indicate slight wear.
