    how do u know if the coin has a mint mark on it??

    Check a coin magazine or book for the mintmark location (if any) on the coin, then look for it.

    Easiest way is to find a freind or nieghbor that knows coins and ask them. Or do as your doing now and ask here only tell which type of coin you are referring to.
