oops... here's another pic of all of the 72 also while I have you here.... could this 71 be an s/s or something like that? I read in one of the forum's that at least one of you don't like looking at our coins... So for the one's that do, Thanks for giving your time and ideals to me/us. cho cho
Who ever said that we didn't like looking at coins wasn't thinking too clearly....or maybe you just miss read them....this is a coin forum and we collectors love to look at coins.... As for the 1972...it could be one of the many DD from that date....as for the 1971...the scan is really blocky but looking at the scan and my RPM book at the same time I don't see one that looks like it...that could be good and that could be bad. Speedy
The photos are poor, but if both the date and the mintmark are doubled, then it's most like strike doubling (machine doubling). This is very common on S-mintmark cents from the late 1960's and early 1970's.
They look so real/true to me, that's what I came here for..to find out, wish it was a true doubled die, Another machine doubling, seems im very good at finding those... oh well, nothing to do but keep looking.. Thanks Speedy, and Thank You Mikediamond cho cho
Hi, I would love to see a clearer shot of the date and Mintmark on the 1971 S cent. On the 1972 S cent, there is one known (at this point) DDO listed for business strike coins. (I have the discovery piece) The coin shown is not it. There may be something going on with the 1971 S though. Have Fun, Bill
Well Bill, Thanks for looking, I too wish I could get a better scan... Looked for a QX5 none around here.. Im gonna have to get me one of those... next on my list!!!
