I cannot beleave i found this in circulation currency. I do admit it shows that its been in circulation. I would like a fair idea of what its worth. ive found many of this same year and not one of them looks this nice not a single one. sadly its not a keydate XD
That is pretty common even in higher grades. But it a GOOD find. I am seeing 4-5 Wheats every 20 rolls over here.
that seems to be coming out to the same i find i found 10 in about 30 bucks worth of currency. sadly i realise thats very common i honestly just was curious its price and i wanted to share my find. XD that ones listed in my collection as one i want to keep. though it does give me hope finding one like that, maybe ill get really lucky someday. {im a optimist to a point btw}
It's always nice to find an AU wheatie that isn't all brown... I've still only found two after searching hundreds of dollars in pennies.
aye, i went WHOO HOO!!! then i realised 1958 CRAP! XD if i remember correctly 1959 was the last year they minted wheat pennys. so its not the very last possible wheat penny but its right up there.
It was actually '58. My moms birth year. My dad was '59. I have a BU cent for each year, just for them.
oh my bad i was thinking in 59 which would of been the i think 50 year birthday of Abe Lincoln was when they started minting memorials. and ok nvm {looks down at my list} i stand double and probably triple corrected.
I've been having my other half ask for any hand rolls that have been turned when she does out banking. One particular teller has been putting them aside for her. She told me that tellers said more people are cashing in their coins now. kind of strange since unemployment in out county is only at 6% Any way out of 14 rolls, there were 8 wheats all from the 50's.
yea i noticed that. most of my pennys are from the 1950's but i did find a 1918 penny. it was very very worn though. but its definately 191 then either a 8 or a 0 but i firmly beleave its a 8. anywhoo its not worth squat at that low grade. but it was still nice to find it in circulation. and it is odd that people would be cashing in there wheat pennys but i guess in tough times.
@shadaw I am not tryin to get your hopes up because they are extremely rare, but there were accidentally a few 1959 Lincoln Cents minted with the Wheat reverse.
I doubt a dealer would make an offer. But it is good to add to your collection and perhaps start building one around it ? Maybe one of every year or something ? Not every collector needs every coin for his/her sets. The fun is collecting what YOU like. Gary
Yeah i just got a 1911 s wheaty, paid a quarter, but i love it. its worn to heck and back but it fits great w/ my collection
That's Fantastic ! A lot less than the postage is too ! I don't care what condition it's in, all you have invested is 25c, and if it fills a slot that's great !
