If anyone needs to fill a empty spot or has some kind of voucher, or is a submitter hook me up. I don't feel like spending the money to renew, as I just have one measly coin to send in. It has to be sent secure, as it's a world coin, however I will pay you the service fee of $25, whatever return shipping will be, plus $5 for your time. Mods, if you need to move this, do so, IDK where it would go since it's more of a WTB service instead of a item. Thanks
Since your an ANA member, you get an NGC submitter account, without paying the annual fee. Is this something you must grade at PCGS?
Do you really need the coin graded right now? Is it a rarity? Why not wait until you have enough coins worthy of submission, and then re-up your membership at that time and do it yourself? Just wondering...
For the most part, I usually buy coins already graded. I could see spending the money to have a $500 coin graded if your going to sell it and one difference in it's grade could be an additional $200 or more in value, that makes sense. But if I spend $40 on a coin, and another $25 to have it graded, I will have $65 wrapped up in it, when I can buy the coin already graded for maybe $10 more. I DO spend [slightly] more money on slabbed coins, but it makes more sense to spend $10 more than book value on a coin, then to spend book value and spend $25 to have it graded. The only reason I do that (and not often, as I have gotten slabbed coins for book value), is that for $10 or less, the PCGS slab is a very durable and protective holder. However, the coin I want graded has one-of-a-kind toning, and it would be worth the money to see what kind of MS grade it will get (just curious, I'm not wanting to sell it), and protect it so I can enjoy it for years to come.
No problem.... just lie and tell them you're a YN. After all, it seemed to work well for you the last time.
Put it in an Air-Tite (or other hard plastic holder) and store it properly. It will be just as well protected as if it were in a TPG slab. Much cheaper than paying for grading and just as effective.
Your title stating that you "need" to have a coin graded makes it sound as though it is absolutely necessary. So, it sounds from your new information that you "wouldn't mind having a coin graded, because curiosity has gotten the better of you and you'd like to see if PCGS will humor you with a decent grade." ...in which case, I would leave the coin raw and enjoy it just as much.
Along with one less headache for the member who agrees to submit this gem under their membership should something go wrong, or the OP forgets what the coin looks like and starts making ridiculous accusations(like he's done in the past, I think it's called going off half cocked), etc., etc.
Ya know, it's not often say anything on the subject. But there really is no reason for the comments about Tim. They serve no purpose whatsoever, they add nothing to the discussion whatsoever. And they are most definitely not on topic. So why does everybody insist on making them ? Is that really your idea of fun as I can think of no other reason for you to do it - any of you ? So what say we - you, all of you - just don't do it.
As the OP stated, maybe this thread needs to be moved elsewhere (BST or Support/Feedback or somewhere else). Based on CT rules, offers for coins are not allowed so maybe offers for coin services in which money would exchange hands should also not be allowed in the main coin discussion fora/forums. It would have been different if a coin is posted with pics and the OP states he cannot wait to get this one graded and asks for suggestions of grade, TPG, worth, etc. TC
