I made a 1964 Blunt 9 Roosevelt Dime in PF-69 Ucam at NGC. It is the highest one graded out of 6 total.

Woah, that's a beauty. What is the premium on a "Top Pop" coin. I mean over other lets say 69 coins? I'm sure there are some MS-69 examples etc...

Congrats! Did you crack it out of a proof set?

Proof dimes aren't that popular of a series, so it isn't worth all that much; although it is pretty cool to have the only 69.

Yup, I picked up the proof set for $8.00

Blunt and Pointed 9 refer to the 9 in the date. Here are some pics.

Had me going wondering what the h--- is a "top pop", but then it hit me "top population" OK.

Now lets get to this blunt 9. Is the blunt a result of the work performed on the die in preparation for proof striking? The date appears to be frosted/cameo-ed. Or is the blunt a variation of dies? Either way how many blunts where produced out of the millions minted? Is the blunt rarer then the pointed tail?

The blunt 9 is considered to be a variety from a different die, nobody knows how many were struck. But since the population numbers are very low, NGC has only ever graded 6 of them, it is considered to be quite scarce.
