We have two coin changers where I work, one will spit dollar coins at ya, sacs and sba's the other is just a mix of quaters nickles and dimes. I got my first california quarter last night, last week it was loaded with new buffs. And a few weeks ago i grabed a 39 jefferson and a 56 quarter out of the same drop
I do that sometimes. For a five dollar bill, I get three Sacs/SBAs and eight quarters. Jackpot ! I also use the Coke machine as a change machine. I run a dollar bill into it and then push the refund button. Out pops four quarters. Better odds than a slot machine.
It sounds like you have one of the big caterers like ARA or something. Some of these are so big that they get their coins directly from the mint or fed like the counting houses. Such machines can be an excellent source for older circulating issues also since coin can sit in storage for a few years.
