    Is't that nickel a matte proof? Thats what makes that set cost so much.

    The matte nickel has some toning.

    Do you think that would effect value one way or another.
    Some people like it some dont.What do you think the whole
    package is worth?
    Thanks Steve.

    The coins are not matte proof as the writings in the folder clearly states that both the coins are UNC.

    These nickels are SMS Matte finish and yes they are the reason the sets are so expensive. Posted pictures of mine recently and the nickel and dollar both are toning. I am on my blackberry so I cannot link my thread. It is hard to tell on a small screen but it looks like my toning is futher along. Your 2 like mine does not have a special serial :( Some small amount were star notes. I love the reverse of the dollar :) Thanks for sharing...

    Really depends on how the nickel would grade. Mine has a couple small hits and I paid 55 for it. The Noost bought his set for 49 I believe. Those two are the lowest prices I have seen. I believe you can buy the nickel on eBay slabbed by pcgs 69 for about $69 dollars. I think you are going to be between 49 to 69 depending on condition. Good luck!

    44$ I think shipped mine was. I agree w/ USS 656. Maybe a little higher during the holidays. Retail value in con prices value is $100.
