I have two 1974 d cents one has a shiny outline and one doesn't

    44 and 36 years old. A lot can happen in that time in regards to "toning".

    I don't see any doubling on the second one but then I wasn't zooming in on it to much either.

    Simple copper toning. Copper is very reactive to its environment. Everything from a sweaty pocket to sitting on a car dashboard in the heat of the summer. Copper can turn many variations of red/brown and otherwise over the course of the years.

    Not that you need to remove them from the flips for this thread but, to get better answers, it is best.
    The 82 is a large date.
    The red outline is what is left of the original mint luster.
