I'm guessing you're talking about the 2003A $1 bills. Post the serial number and I'll let you know...

What are you talking about Speedy?

Sorry to disappoint you Coke but millions have been made to date so it is nothing special. If it is in CU condition though it may be fun to put away for the future.

Yeah - if the serial number was A00000001A it would be one of the very first, but yours is probably somewhere in the 31,326,389 range.

If it is mint CU I'd just store it away for the future otherwise I'd just spend it.

Why would they make a serial number like this? The mint shuns making instant collectables

The Mint doesn't make notes, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP - they also print stamps) does. Both are under the Treasury Department, but are run seperately of each other. Personally, I think the BEP is a better outfit.

The Mint tries to avoid creating collectables by accident (DD, mules, etc.). Creating collectables intentionally (commemoratives) is very much in their plans.

We have to remember (we as collectors can sometimes forget it) that the primary job of the Mint and the BEP is to create coins and currency for commerce.
