It remained the last s mint cent for 13 years, until san francisco minted memorial cents for 7 years, 1968-1974. Only proof issues have been minted by san franciso since 1974.

I do, but I do not think there is a high value to them. Might be one day, who knows. I keep all the S mintmarked coins. I do not find too many of them. I did find a 1951 S today. actually two of them for some reason...unusual. Have fun!

Aren't you the kid that hack sawed into the gold bar that you found walking your dog in the park? Whatever happened to that?

I've been reading some old threads and that was a memorable one...long but interesting.

And your point is? Unless you plan on selling them to a recycler for the Copper, the 95% Copper is of no inportance. As to the S Mint Marks, ther are many, many people that save every one they find. Possibly some day in the distant future they will all be worth a real lot of money. Of course if the S Mint starts making coins for distribution again, POOF, there goes that.
I always remember how in the late 70's convertible cars were stopped in production so many people ran out and purchased one or more. Then in 84 Chrysler started with the chopped top version which led to convertibles again. POOF, there went that investment. Happened to a friend of mine.
Usually all S Mint Marked coins are worth a little more than others due to not being made, low mintages, etc. If you have a real lot of time left on Earth, take a chance and save them.
    So who knows about tomorrow?
