Is this considered an error because the reeded edge is missing on part of the coin? This is a 2008 New Mexico quarter I got 4 rolls of them from the bank today and this one struck me as being strange. Thank you Noobismatist

It looks as though it may have been spooned. Using the bottom of the spoon, keep tapping the edge to flatten it.

It could also have spent some time in Vegas, on an Indian Reservation, or some other home to slot machines.

Never heard of that. Why would a person do it?

Is it possible to get a couple more pics so there isn't so much shadowing?

It came out of a BU roll here is another pic and of the coin itself I think it shows the unusual reeding on the coin better[IMG]

Looks like it wasn't properly seated in the coining chamber and it has a tilted strike. Anyone else?

Yes, this photo leaves me with a completely different impression compared to the first photo. It now looks like a Tilted Partial Collar Strike, Rarity Level 5-6 (as few as 10 to as many as 1,000 known). Values would start about $20.

It is a partial collar error. The coin was not seated properly in the coining chamber, as suggested in one of the posts above.

    It's a nice coin!
