    Certainly odd. It's hard to tell with pics, but the Q in Qurter seems half struck...it looks like something could have come between the die and planchet, to smash the rim down and keep the Quarter from getting fully formed from the strike. But it would have had to happen on both sides...the rim does look anomalous opposite the missing rim section, but I don't think that's a clipped planchet error because it's not flat and the "metal smear" isn't there.

    I'll be interested in what the more experienced folks have to say.

    Yes, a very minor clip. So much so that it is a borderline disk clip.

    A "Disk Clip" is minor enough to disrupt the border but not really show much of a missing area of the planchet.

    @nicholas.silva.18 other side meaning opposite the clip. It's called the Blakesley effect.
