    Hi there

I am new to coin collecting and have come across this coin at an auction in Brisbane (Australia).

Between the "b" and the "e" in "liberty" seems to be filled in. I was wondering if this error is rare and/or valuable...I was wanting to offload the coin eventually to buy some more Australian coins :):cigar:

See the photos below. Sorry about the quality of the photos. If I wanted to sell this coin is it worth getting slabbed?

Thank very much for you help!!

    It's called a " BIE " error .
Caused by a die break ..

Thanks Rick. Very interesting. So this is a common error and one I should just squirrel away?

Put it in a 2x2 flip and put it away..
Yes it is common on Cents struck in the 1950's but could be found on any year.
Here are 3 different 1994 BIE's from my collection -

Thanks mate. I like US coins and I try to pick up any interesting coins that come up at auction. Being from Australia I focus more on Australian error coins of course!

BIE's are fun to collect. It is also nice when the coin has luster and nice details.
