under the year it has a "A". and it has a small head not the big heads like they have now. so is it worth anything???
some collect the older styles of the bills (small heads) as they will get destroyed once in the right hands. the "A" just means that there was a signature change since the 1988 release (there are two signatures). As of now, i'm not quite sure if it holds more than the face value, but if kept in nice condition, it might be worth something many years from now! Good find either way! I like to collect the older styles. I'm trying to get as many years of the 1,2,5,10,and 20 bills... harder than it sounds *L*
Me gusta paper money! I collect the old-style bills too: I have a 1993 and two 1995 $5 bills, A 1969-C $10, A 1993 $20 and a 1981 $50. The 1988 $5, is, sadly, worth $5. If in crisp condition, maybe $6. That's the only thing that sucks about the recent old-style bills: They look like a million bucks-- worth face.
