With everyone else focusing on silver, I spent the afternoon quietly digging through the local dealer's foreign coin bin, where everything is 25 cents each. I made some awesome finds. I haven't had a chance to look them up, but among the highlights in my opinion are these:
    Chile 20 centavos 1925
    2 ore Sweden? 1886
    1907 Mexico 5 centavos
    1912 Mexico 1 Centavo
1883 20 reis Brazil or Portugal
1805 20 stuber? country unknown (one of the German states or Austria I believe
1839A einen thaler (Germany or Austria)
    1882 Switzerland 5 (rappen?)
    1878 Netherlands 1 cent
    1948 Curacao 5 cents
    1882 Hungary 1 (something)
    1851 4 pfenning
    1878 Spain 10 centavos
1862 2 cents Luxembourg or Netherlands I think
    1914 Mexico 5 centavos
    1912 Greece 10 Lepta?
1950 Mexico 25 centavos (this should be partly silver)
    1864 1/2 Kreuzer
    Monaco 1 franc (no date)
    1830 1 kreuzer
    1894 Italy 10 centesimi
    1935 British 6 pence (silver)
    1823 British halfpenny or farthing
    1951 Mexico 25 cents (silver)
    1924 Romania 2 Lei
    1900 Mexico 1 centavo
    1863A 3 pfenning
    1872 1 pfenning
    1894 2 ore Denmark?
    1856 2 Pfennig

I also got a bunch of kriegsgeld and post-WWI coinage issued by German towns and states. I have no idea if it's worth anything or not. And there's a 1917 coin that says "krolestwo polskie 5 fenigow" that I am very curious about.

    So how did I do?

I'd like to share pics but it just takes too long. Though there will probably be some I have questions about.

Kingdom of Poland was proclaimed in 1916 by German and Austrian-Hungarian occupation administrations on the territory of "Russian" Poland. This Kingdom was annuled in 1918.

My Polish coin looks just like yours but it is a 5 Fenigow. I looked it up and was disappointed to find out it's pretty common. I've never seen one before.

I just wanted to share this one because I think it's really cool. Australia 1 dollar 1995. I love the kangaroo parade.

It is rather usual coin. But nice. And if you got it for 25 cents only, it's very good purchase.

Nice buys! I wish there was a coin shop around here that had a foreign bin!
