1864 w/L or 1900 w/L, which would be worth more? Considering both same grade, say, Fine to V Fine.:rollling:

I don't collect IHCs, but I would take Civil War history.

    Serpent,

Do you own a Red Book? If not, you REALLY should buy one. The answer to that question - and many others - can be found there.

The 1864 With L IHC is a rare variety that is worth considerably more than the other varieties for that year.

Every IHC dated 1865 and later is the 'With L' type so being a 'With L' would mean absolutely nothing.

To answer the question - the 1864 W/ L is worth more than the 1900 IHC in the same grade.

Thanks, Hobo. I evidently mis-read something in the Red Book. I, Really do have one. LOL. Have A Great Day and A Better Tomorrow.

    Serpent,

Sometimes you have to read between the lines but the info is there. This is what my 2008 Red Book says (from page 111):
