Hi Fitzcoin, well even though I collect coins from Canada I cant help you as you fail to tell us anything about the coin! It is very helpful to if possible post a pic or at least give us the denomination and date of a coin to work on Just asking how much a coin is worth and not giving any other info is a bit like saying how long is a piece of string LOL Go on give it another shot but this time with some info De Orc
How are you arriving at that conclusion? At the current exchange rate, the face value of a Canadian coin in US dollar terms, is ~86.3%. If you are comparing numismatic values between similarly dated coins, there is no consistent correlation. By opening the 20th Century Krause catalog (I don't own a recent Red Book) to a random US page, and picking a random example on that page, I selected a 1911 dime for a test comparison. With an MS-60 US dime cataloging at $110 from the Denver or Philadelphia mints, under your theory a Canadian 1911 MS-80 dime should be US$66, but it's listed in Krause at $100. (Its catalog value in the current Charlton catalog is the equivalent of US$128.)
