I received these 2 coins today in change at the gas station and was wondering if anyone knew why the one on the left looks like it's part silver and copper, i really don't know anything about coins so it could be nothing, was just curious. I also noticed that the coin on the left is thinner than a regular quarter and makes a different sound to it when dropped

I metal detect and have found plenty of 1965 Quarters that look like your 2.
The soil, sand and dirt will do that :yack:

1964 was the last year Quarters were made with silver. Starting 1965 they were Clad with a Copper core.
