i ordered a 97 silver eagle and an 86 morgan this past weekend. they came today. i'm in love!!! these coins are bigger than i thought, shinier than i thought and what really amazes me is i have a coin that is over 100 years old. something that was around before the turn of the century. and makes me wonder, did it accompany someone at the world fair? where was she during the first world war? the second world war? who has had her in their pocket or purse? i can't wait to get more dollars. now i gotta ship the silver eagle to an 11 year old friend for his birthday. hope he likes it. it's the same age as he is and will always be the same age as him. i'm sorta ecstatic. hopefully i won't go bankrupt buying up coins.
Hi my name is Mark and I am a coin collector.... Welcome to the club...you now have the disease. Enjoy the hobby.
Yep...you definitely have the disease now. And you are correct, the Eagle and Morgan are two of my favorites too. And like you, I sometimes wonder where that Morgan has been....high stakes poker game, paid for some ice from a horse drawn wagon, maybe a nice pair of shoes? The history is right there in your hand. The design of Liberty Walking on the Eagle is in my opinion, one of the very best designs. I also collect and admire the Walking Liberty halves because of the same design. Congratulations and thanks for sharing your story! Jim
