I found this 1978 penny that has the bottom of the word trust cut off. Is this a manafacturing error? I tried to upload a picture but it was to large.

Without a photo we can only guess. You can edit your photo using any number of software programs to reduce the size of the file to meet the parameters of this site. Once you have compressed your photo you should be able to upload it so we can see what you are talking about.

damage from a coin rolling machine. The metal is peeled away from the bottoms of the letters toward the edge. Post Mint Damage

Ive looked through all my coins at least 5 times looking for things. Where can I get some more older rolls of pennies cheap?

Try grocery stores that re-roll their coins. Even the smaller corner stores have an excess of pennies. You'd be surprised at what you can find in them. Or buy boxes of pennies from the bank. You'll increase your odds by going through bulk.

If post mint damage were to increase the value of any coin, I'd be out there hammering and squeezing all my circulated loose change I intend to buy snickers bars with and selling them on eBay. ;)
