After a six-month drought, the local Coinstar machine finally yielded something better than a moldy Zincoln or a solitary foreign coin in the reject slot; a well-circulated 1869 Shield Nickel. Although it's a cull, it is still by far one of my most interesting Coinstar reject slot finds to date.

Now that is cool. I once got a worn flat V-nickel in change at the beach... I couldn't imagine finding a shield nickel in the wild. That's very cool!

    It's Ugly as Sin but it's a Shield . Probably a Metal Detector's find for sure . ;)

Crazy! Would love to know the story of how that particular coin ended up in the CoinStar!

With the excess of fools in this world, there's a good chance that I might find something even better down the road.

Well, Sal, I don't think @CoinJockey73 lives anywhere near suburban Nashville.

You're correct. Metro NY area, over here. But your neck of the woods sounds lovely.

That is amazing, better than the barely identifiable Liberty nickel I found a couple of years ago.
