I won a very nice Icelandic 1925 2 Kronur that may very well grade a AU-50 or better. In this lot of coins I won at a Bruun Rasmussen auction was a bunch of danish commeratives that I don't want and I'm going to list them here if anyone is interested in them when i get them in a few week.

Well I got the coins from Denmark and boy they dont look so good. they must of used some kind of scanner that left out a lot of the surface detail. The 2 kronur looked horrible and I sent the whole lot back to them for a refund. But the good news out of all this was a few days after the auction ended I got a email from the coin clulb in Reykjavik, Iceland with a list of coins in the monthly auction and low and behold for the first time in seven years since I have been getting these emails someone put up a 1925 2 Kronur in 01 condition or for those that don't know what this means , A coin that in anywhere from Ex-Fine to AU. Well a very good friend of mine that lives there checked it out and told me that the coin has nearly full mint luster and the only one he has ever seen that was better then this one is in the national musuem, well I asked him to bid on the coin for me and to get it at any price. He Told me to leave it to him, Well one the day of the auction my friend instant messaged me with how he did and sent me pictures of the coin and told me what he got it for ,,,,Well I was shocked when he told me that the bid never went past 68 dollars which was the opening bid and asked hows that??? At the start of the auction he circulated that he was bidding on behalf of a buyer in the U.S. and told people that he was to bid up to 450.00 bucks well no one bidded and now I'm One Happy Camper because of a very good friend.

Here is a picture of the coin

Thank You Krispy ....Its been a very long search for a nice coin like this. Now I just need to find the two 1937 1 Eyrir wide and far dates in AU or better condition and those two coins may just be as hard to find like this 2 Kronur.

I got my 1925 2 Kronur in the mail from my friend today and boy it does look great. :D It has just about full mint luster with great cartwheel when you move it around under the light and from what I can see as far as wear is concerned,,,It may be just some abbrations or metal toning on some of the high points and not wear at all,,,But in all likley hood they will say its wear. If its wear and grades a AU then I would say this coin would grade a AU-59.5,,,,not bad for 68 bucks...:D:D:D:D:D
I will post the grade when it comes back from NGC.
And to my friend in Iceland I owe you big time:bow::bow::bow::bow::bow::bow::bow::bow::bow::bow:

I did that once krispy and when I got the email with the picture it was very tiny,,,,like 3/4 inch tall X 3/8 inch wide and when I tryed to increase the size it was all blury. But I may try again.

Well finally...... A full month since I mailed my 1925 2 Kronur to NCS, It made it through NCS yesterday and sent to NGC and is now in quality control.....But I first had a heart attack when I read that NGC had a 22 business day turnaround time, which means that it will take up to 4 and half weeks more. So I called NCS and they told me that when they send the coins to NGC it only takes a couple of days for them to grade the coin.....Thank God....Budda, Ala, mohammed, and Harry christna....LOL....Because I don't think I could wait another month.....hopefully I will know the grade of the coin by Tuesday or Wednesday at the lastest....I can't wait ...and Krispy I ordered pictures and I will post them as soon as I get them.
