I finally got the 1975 Mexican 10 pesos coin that I've been seeking for about a year, and for a very good price. Other recent auctions have gone for more than $20, and I got mine for less than $6 shipped. Thanks, it is very fulfilling. Now I need the 1973 1 centavo and I'll really be happy. Noob, I don't need another one, but if you list it on eBay you might strike it rich. There are several modern Mexican coins that are very rare and I think most people who don't focus on the country have no idea, because they look common.
Hello Ahab, Glad to see you finally got your white whale. I purchased a lot of error coins in Guadalajara about a year ago. There were several 10 Pesos in the lot. None were perfect like your 1975 coin. This photo depicts the off center, clipped & blank planchet errors. I sold some of these at my cost to some folks here at CT.
Collect, those are pretty strange. I see a lot of Mexican errors like that on eBay which makes me think their quality control wasn't great at the Mexican mint.
