I got this in change today. Any idea as to what may have caused it?

Errors are NOT my strong point although I do dabble in them. Probably a simple explanation.

If not, as in it's really complicated, should I put fingerprints all over it and sell it as a double error? I've seen worse on ebay.

That looks like damage from a coin rolling machine, that puts coins in paper rolls.

    OK,

3 say the same thing and I DID NOT tamper with this coin. Therefore it is a rare POST-MINT error!

Shall we pick a title so I can put it up on ebay and then have someone here post it and make fun of it?

    Here we go:

Ultra-Rare! 2007 D Post mint Post Mint Counting Strike.

In an unusual move the mint managed to produce this perfect coin, without any original problems or defects.
However, fate intervened before I was able to obtain this choice piece.
Amazingly, while moving thru the rotors of a counter the esteemed company, Brinks, managed to produce the attached coin.
I have been informed that this is now the government's way of tracking our money.
They are using this for the sole purpose of see if you have any unreported income and/or if you are a drug dealer.
Bid today on this piece of history. It has it all: rarity, governmental intrusion and conspiracy. Who knows, if JFK hadn't been assassinated he have have held this very coin.

    Opening Bid: $.01
    Shipping & Handling & Insurance: $1,235.00

I think it should be listed as communication from aliens.
Bellow out a big spiel about being related to crop circles and such.
    LOL

    LOL?

    What is funny about that?
We all know that the aliens communicate with us in unusual ways!
Just because they use old silver coins is no reason to laugh at the aliens!
They know the true value of $.

(Okay, so I am just kidding and it is funny.)
