I don't use coins to pay for anything, how about you?

I hate using coins when I purchase something. If I'm not paying with my debit card I'm paying with dollar bills, no coins.

Most of the time the coins I get back in change don't even go in my pocket. If I'm driving I put the change I receive in the vehicle I'm driving.

If I walked to the store I keep any change I received in my hand until I get back home then I have a container just inside the door that I dump the change into.

Hate it when the person in front of me is at the till paying for something and spends forever digging around for some coins.

To top it all off my wife loves paying for stuff with exact change, lol...

For example if we go to the store together and something is $14.58 I will pay for it with $15.00 and my wife will say, "Wait!, I got 58 cents".

Are you kidding me!? So what!
She says it like she won the lottery or something, lol...

When I get my change back I hand it to her and say, here have some more change...

Same if I go shopping with my son. I just hand him the change.

    How about you?

Pay with change or round it up and pay with dollars?

Yeah, you'd hate me too. I rather enjoy holding up the line as I fish through my pocket for the exact change. It's payback for all those folks who hold up the line 'cause their debit card won't work......

I'm the opposite... I'll pay in dollar bills so I can get change in return just to look through it... :) If I have exact change, I'll use it to pay, but I generally won't hold up the line for it. Otherwise it goes into a jar at home, which is my "coin collecting fund". Kinda ironic... :)

I still can't stand being in the grocery store and having to wait for people to write checks... ugh!

Just tell them to keep the change. Problem solved.

    Kind of crazy I know...

Don't really consider myself I coin collector, but found the bullion investing board interesting.

Maybe someday I will start collecting coins. ;)

I rarely pay with change, but I love getting it back. Just the other day I paid at a grocery store that has an automated change dispenser. I think my total came to $15.06 and I handed the cashier $20.07 so I could get $5.99 in change. :D

i hate it when people are paying with plastic in front of me in line

it always seems like it takes longer and it actually does ...its annoying
its never as fast as that Mastercard commercial a few years ago.... speedy plastic buying

some customers dont know what buttons to push or push the wrong ones, the card reader didnt read it right, card is not working at all
not enough money in the account...lets try another card they have..have to wait for the bank information to go thru, use multiple cards
got to sign for it, cashier has to keep a copy and stow it away... print out another for the customer .....enough ....ugh !!!!

for me bills and coins... i use both .... it always seems faster to me , plus i got a couple silver dimes in change to boot

....so dont use a card in front of me .... i guess i'll jinx yah

Cards do seem slower then cash.

Hate all that paper too. Unless I need the receipt for taxes or a possible return I tell them to throw it away.

Do I really need a receipt for a pop and candy bar that I just paid cash for? Nope. :)

If I know the exact price for a soda, I pay in change.

If something is $5.00 or so, dollar coins (many cashiers think this is really cool - especially if you throw them Washington dollars).

When it comes to my wife, if she has her change purse ready, I will let her pay the change part (she is on the lookout for certain coins I want - especially silver & copper).

Change is good. How could we collect without it?

I like using dollar coins myself, and if I see dollar coins in the cashiers till, I'll ask for them in change instead of $1 notes.

One time, at Wegman's, I asked for the dollar coins the cashier had in her till, instead of $1 notes, and she told me those were fakes and she couldn't let me have them. I pulled a couple out of my pocket and asked, "If I used those for a purchase would you call the cops to have me arrested for passing counterfeit money?" Surprisingly, she said she would have to, it's the law.

    Today's youth! Gotta love 'em!

I don't use change. Any change comes home and gets put in a 5 gallon water jug. The last time we emptied it, 2009, it was $2938 and we went on a family vacation to Disney World. Felt like a nearly free vacation because it was pocket change over the course of about 8 years.

The only time I use change is if I go through the drive thru to get my coffee, which is rare, and I have the exact change in my cupholder.

I carry cash, but 90% of the time use my debit card. Any change I get when I use cash goes into the jar at the end of the day. When the jar is full, it gets emptied and rolled. this would be my mad money. A gallon pickle jar holds about $400 or so. My wife on the other hand, keeps a ton of change in her wallet, and will constantly pull it out for exact change. Up side is, every once in a while she pulls it out and looks for older coins, which then go on my desk. Anything I'm not really interested in goes (you guessed it) goes in MY change jar.
