I don't think this mint mark was meant!

Here I have this 1944 that has an s mint mark who decided to bring her mint mark friend D along with her. Little D seems to be having a hard time climbing all the way on the coin next to s and has decided to stay posted right there on the edge. Has anybody seen this before? Two mint marks for the 44 S and D, or is the D some sort of die clash that just happened to take the form of a D? 0729181302.jpg 0729181306.jpg

I agree, it looks like the coin took a hit , and it sort of resembles the letter d . This is for sure PMD.

    There's no D. It's a 1944-S with a little damage.
If there was such a coin, the S would be over or under the D as the mintmark is punched into the die. It doesn't move around unless it was miss struck somehow, and then the whole coin would be messed up.
