The generosity of those on this forum is well-known. Members freely offer advice, encouragement and friendship on a daily basis. The giving of coins is also not uncommon to see. I have been incredibly fortunate to experience all of these. I'm certainly not deserving of such generosity. However, my appreciation goes beyond what I could adequately express here. Over the past little while, I have been given some awesome Judaean coins that have made my collection so much better. I won't be able to get many coins this year because of financial restraints, but, I'm so happy to have the opportunity to hold onto these pieces of history. I'm not a sappy person. But, I just wanted to give a huge shout out to all of you for accepting my brother and I as two of your own and offering us such generosity that can often be lost in this world. Peace out, Erin
Erin, you're definitely a CoinTalk Ancients Forum great! I'm inspired by your kindness and sincerity. This is a great forum and members like you make it great. Blessings to you, my friend!
That is just plain wonderful. Congrats on being the recipient of such generous gifts. Congrats also to the giver. I believe the world is little nicer when we give.
Thanks everybody! My brother and I both have social issues, so, it really means a lot to us to be accepted here. My brother keeps a very low profile online, but he'll read the forums with me. Ro, the coin with the Nero profile is from Porcius Festus who was the Procurator of Judaea under Nero. Erin
It's absolutely awesome to see our ancient folks "paying it forward" ... Erin, you're a good "gal" and the donor is obviously a great person as well (it's a great feel-good thread) Cheers This place rocks!!
You don't have to post to enjoy the forum. Just reading and looking at coins are a joy, and its great to hear about the generosity. Its also fun, (at least for some) to take pictures, find out the history, and putting them in a nice display.
There are two gifters here to whom I am greatly indebted. I hope they know how much I appreciate their generosity and hope that they receive great things in return! Erin
When I joined this forum a year ago now, I noticed right away how nice the members were, ready to help ID coins, show everyone their collections, historical facts about them, but above all show compassion, when someone on the forum was feeling down. Those were beautifull sentiments, Erin
Yeah there's some awsome people on this forum. Definately a bunch with great heart. That's a great looking set Erin, congrats.
Well @stevex6 , it's been my lifelong dream to have an aes grave Sextans with a beautiful shell on the obverse. You wouldn't happen to know anyone that has one and would be willing to gift it to poor little old me, do you? On a serious note. I love giving. I'm happy to say that last year I gifted 7 ancient coins away. I hope to have another giveaway soon. Maybe next month.
