I didnt know that there was a presedential $1 coin series going on. I just got into collecting a month or so ago, and I was on the mints website and saw that there is a series of Presedential coins going on. If it started in 2007, it shouldnt be to late for me to start.

when I buy a dollar coin roll, is there anything I should look for besides the presedential coins?

One thing to do is to always check the edge lettering on these issues. Sometimes it's missing or scrambled and makes for an interesting find. Back when the series first started (2007) some of the Washingtons were missing the edge lettering. A word of caution though. Some unscrupulous types have purposely removed the edge lettering with a file or rotary tool.

Ill look closely at them. Im planning on keeping any in good condition and one from both mints.

Don't let anyone hoodwink you into believe that if the lettering is upside down with the obverse facing up, that it's an error. It's not. The mint does not discriminate as to whether the coin is obverse side up or reverse side up when they are placed in the edging machine to put the lettering on the edge.

    Its a 50/50 thing.

Great advice BU, but I will add that some guys collect the series with those different edge lettering orientations in mind. I'm just content to get one of each presidential coin (PDS) without regard to lettering position.

There are two dollar coins being produced. The Sacagawea Golden Dollar began in 2000. It used to have a "soaring eagle" reverse, but in 2009 (?) they changed the name to the Native American Dollar. It still has Sacagawea and child on the obverse, but each year the reverse is changed to depict a different Native American scene.
