Gentle prodding? A friend of mine constantly reminds me that I am as subtle as a brick in the forehead. I must be getting better
Glad to hear that you joined, you wont be sorry The Numismatist alone is well worth the membership price.
Congrats and welcome to the ANA. I have to agree that the Numismatist is worth the membership. BUT wait till you find out how to use the Library. It's an outstanding deal. You can get help with research. You can borrow great (and expensive) books for just the price of postage - videos, slides; etc. Enjoy.
Congratulations and welcome aboard! Of course, Numismatist and the Library are easily your two best values as a member. In addition, there are other perks such as insurance on your collection, credit cards, travel plans, etc.. Different people use (or do not use) different benefits. I have not taken advantage of them. The Money Market sells supplies, books, etc. Dealers sometimes complain about the ANA competing against them. You might find better prices for 2x2s, etc., at a coin shop or coin show. The books are often priced competitively and I have snagged a few when they went on close-out. Also, interestingly enough, the Library had an auction a couple of years ago. They had gotten donations of books which they then sold as a fund-raiser (much like your local FOLA sales). I picked up a few more books there, things I did not necessarily "need" but at the price would serve me well.
Yes, bravo. I feel that joining the ANA is a great move that any collector can do for themselves. There are many good reasons including receiving the Numismatist.
there is a TERRIFIC article on seated liberty dollars in the nov issue. to me, that alone is worth the membership!
