My wife told me today that she would be interested in starting her own collection. She wants to work on a complete set of Peace Dollars only because she likes the design, which I also do, plus I told her it would be a relatively short and inexpensive set to complete in lower grades of course. Im anxious to see how she does with it. I already have my daughter working on a set of Eisenhower and S.B.A. dollars, she's loving it. :smile COIN SHOW coming up this weekend:smile . It'll be the first one I've been to since...uh....well..a long time ago. Im ready to go spend some money on my collection. Anyone want to go along?

My brother collects a few coins aswell....mainly because I do.

And the best thing about it...he gives me all the coins he buys to look after...so my collection seems bigger :D

My wife recently decided to pick up Jefferson nickel collecting. I went out and bought her a nice Dansco album for 'em, and she's happily humming along. She even spent about $15-20 last weekend at shows on nickels for her set. She's buying uncs when she can find them cheap, other than that just buying what she thinks she can afford for pre-60. You just don't seem to find too many of those in circulation anymore. Heck, I remember when you could find wartime nickels in circulation as recently as the early-to-mid-90s.

Not only that, after she finishes her Jefferson collection, she's stated she'd like to work on buffalos! Thankfully I'll be able to help her with the later dates if she's interested, or she can pick 'em all up at shows if she wants.

Congrats on luring your wife in, good luck keeping her interested.

My dad got me into collecting, and one of my brothers is starting to get interested. My fiance decided she wanted to collect peace dollars... Unfortunately, she is the devil, and is now my ex-fiance. But at least she gave me back the peace dollars I gave her. LOL

Im hoping that when my wife completes her Peace Dollar set she moves on to something more challenging...like maybe the Morgan Dollar series..haha. I really have my doubts about that. I really like your idea Fish, about the Jefferson Nickels, its an easy inexpensive set, yea, thats it, maybe I'll get her to collect those. I just cant get my oldest son to gain any interest in the hobby, well, maybe someday.
