    Okay,

So, I will start off with an apology. I JUST got home from a LCS with this purchase...so no photos...BUT I'm smiling from ear to ear. Read on, and you'll see why...

Here's what I came home with for THE MELT VALUE OF THE SILVER COINS:

(Coins I think I'll probably sell)

    Australia: 1985, 1986, 1987 $10 Silver Proof w/OGP

    Canada: 1987 RCM Proof Set w/OGP; 1987 $20 Figure Skating Silver Proof w/OGP; 2004 $20 Hopewell Rocks Silver Proof/Gilt w/OGP

France: 1977 "Fleurs de Coins" Mint Set w/OGP

Great Britain: 1970 Proof Set (9-coins) in OGP

Vatican City: 1981 Mint Set w/OGP

(Coins I think I'll probably keep)

    France: 1986 100 Francs w/OGP

    Cayman Islands: 1977 $25 Silver Proof w/OGP

    Panama: 1979 $5 & $10 Silver Proofs w/OGP; 1979 $20 Silver Proof w/OGP

South Africa: 1964 Unc Set (7 coins) w/OGP

So wait, the sets without silver coins were free? Nice score either way :)

Well, the only set without a single silver coin was the Great Britain 1970 set, which, yes, was free. I really think they just wanted them out of there - I did actually say for a few of them, "I'm interested in these, but only really at spot - and they're worth more than spot." And they gave them to me at spot anyway.

So, I have a question - I have some cardboard "2x2" that will fit the Silver Eagles and some of the larger coins, but where would I find something that will fit something like this humongous Panama 20 Balboas? (61mm) Do they make flips that size?

61mm? Might just have to use a mylar paper money sleeve for that.

For others I've used the baseball card sleeves that have a sticky line (so it will somewhat seal) but I was hoping for something a little more protective...

Also, I'll have photos of the 1964 South Africa Set soon - at first I was thinking they were the BU coins, but now I'm leaning towards P/L...mind offering an opinion at some point?

Okay, sorry for the delay, but the first set of photos I took were substantially subpar...

The problem I'm having is that P/L versions exist for the 50 Cents, but not the other denominations - but the coins all have a similar appearance. Do you think these could be the Proof versions?

Certainly is a proof set, especially since they didn't make non-proof UNC sets until 1967 :)

Killer score, I especially like the addition of the Vatican set. I've been collecting those for a while now.

Ha ha...you know, I think I was just so excited about everything I had...I completely skimmed over the Krause "PROOF SETS" heading. Yep.

Mintage of 16,000 for all those coins. I might say I'm a very, very happy camper. :)
