Good buy. I like those, never see them that cheap.

I have very seldom seen them that well preserved and here on the border area we see a lot. It doesn't look like the imitations we see so often ( usually have bad rims) but they are silver plated and surface test OK. I assume it weighs OK and was from a good source. Jim

Yes, was purchased at my lcs from a large stash of mixed junk silver world coins. He has very positive reviews too.

What's crazy then is he had multiples of this coin. I just went for the best condition one :)

As a Gem it might be a good deal but AU's of this are very common for less than spot.

Uncs aren't too scarce but I doubt Gems are common.

Maybe in some places, but not on Ebay. And ASW is something like .868 oz.

Was definitely a good deal. Graded gems (particularly the 66s and up) go for significantly more some of which over a 100 dollars and there's been a number of sales supporting those prices

Less than spot? APMEX’s price for generic XF-AU is currently 33.40.

I agree he got a minor steal there.

Now that I think of it I don’t think these are seen very often with significant wear. They were issued just as the peso began a series of devaluations, so I imagine they were hoarded.
