How do you know if these type of coins are real or copies? What is this Chinese coin's denomination? Any help is appreciated. Regards, Bill Chinese Coin0001.jpg Chinese Coin0002.jpg

    Is it fake?

Well, I found one on that site that looks similar to the one I have, however, it doesn't tell me how to determine if its real or fake???? According to that web site, its Chinese Empire Cash Emperor Guang Xu 1875-1908 (copy), but mine doesn't look exactly like the one pictured. The one pictured looks like it has raised bumps in the background, and mine doesn't. Mine looks like it was stamped or made with a die. The one pictured says copy, so how do you tell a copy from the real thing???? That was the question in the first place. Regards, Bill

Looking further, Kraus' catalog does not have pictures of all the coins issued during this period. I am guessing its C# 1-16.1 Cash, but mine doesn't appear to be cast, it appears to be stamped. Anyway, still would like to know how you tell if its real or not....Bill
